The rights of Muslims in India are being stripped away because of discriminatory policies, dehumanization, and violence. Muslims constitute 14% of the population of India. They are the largest religious minority in this Hindu-majority country. The right-wing nationalist BJP party, which controls the government, has targeted Muslims with removal of citizenship, exclusion from legal protections, government-fueled violence, and actual threats of genocide.
