Aveda Adara is tired of facing discrimination as a transgender woman. She has been misgendered and targeted by inappropriate conditions at workplaces. Employers have refused to hire her. Discrimination has devastated her financially.

“I’ve been laughed out of interviews for so many years,” she recounts.

A transgender person is someone whose assigned sex at birth does not correspond with their personal gender identity. Their rights are often jeopardized by hate and discrimination.
