March 11: Women in Genocide – Perpetrators, Victims, Rescuers, and Defenders

Women in genocides are often thought of only as victims. But women can also be perpetrators, carrying out and ordering brutal acts.

This program looks at roles that women have during conflict: perpetrators; victims of sexual and gender-based violence; courageous rescuers; and defenders of law and justice.

Men’s and women’s different experiences impact prevention, prosecution, and justice.
