April 30: Backsliding in Democracy and Women’s Rights
Ellen J. Kennedy, Ph.D., recently attended the UN 69th Commission on the Status of Women, a gathering of 9,000 people from around the world to address women’s rights.
She will speak about the link between today’s increasing de-democratization in Europe and the US and the rise in misogyny, sexual violence, women’s electoral disenfranchisement, and growing gender inequality.
Action and engagement through LWV-MN and LWV-US will be highlighted.
