UN CSW, March 12: Women and Ecocide – Victims of Environmental Destruction

Women and girls are especially victimized by the effects of ecocide, or “killing the environment,” because of intersections with race, poverty, care giving, Indigenous identity, geographic isolation, and other vulnerabilities.

Ellen J. Kennedy, Ph.D., Executive Director, World Without Genocide, will examine criminalization of ecocide, efforts to hold perpetrators accountable, and domestic and international measures to keep all people safe.
