This award, to be given annually by World Without Genocide, recognizes one individual whose work in any or all of the following areas has been exceptional:
- Education about genocide: the individual has reached out to the faith, civic, educational, and/or human rights communities to teach about genocide both past and present and to remember those whose lives and cultures have been destroyed by genocide;
- Education to prevent genocide: the individual has worked to reduce xenophobia, anti-Semitism, and other forms of prejudice in our community and has inspired people to resist manipulation and stereotyping that create discrimination;
- Education against genocide: the individual has worked with elected officials to enhance legislation that protects innocent civilians around the world and to advocate for the prosecution of perpetrators.
Applicants may be self-nominated or nominated by members of the Board or the community. The Board of Directors of World Without Genocide, or a committee of the Board, will select the recipient.
