Apply for a World Award

World Without Genocide offers annual essay, action project, and overall engagement awards. The awards celebrate individuals and classrooms who have taken significant steps to prevent and stop genocide. Please visit the Apply for a World Award page for more information.

Centers of Engagement – Taking a Stand against Genocide:

This program promotes genocide education in communities and schools. The first Center of Engagement began as a pilot project in summer 2008 in St. Peter, MN with funding from the Minnesota Department of Education.  The Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies was the fiscal agent.

The Enough Moment:

In connection with  the ENOUGH Project, we created a series of short video clips, called the “Enough Moments,” which tell the stories of when anti-genocide activists first decided to take action. See the first from Dr. Ellen Kennedy on YouTube. Read more “Enough Moments” from our student leaders at World’s first Summer Institute for high schoolers on our blog.

STAND:

World Without Genocide establishes chapters of this global student anti-genocide coalition throughout Minnesota and elsewhere.   To date we have formed chapters at Augsburg College, Edina High School, Gustavus Adolphus College, Southwest Minnesota State University-Marshall, Minnesota State University-Mankato, Metropolitan State University; University of Minnesota-Duluth; University of Northern Iowa; University of Tampa; and Hamline University.  Executive Director Dr. Ellen Kennedy is the advisor to the STAND chapter at the University of Minnesota.
