Film and Discussion, Rwanda: From Genocide to Transitional Justice

(St. Paul, MN; August 17, 2017) In 1994, in the period of one hundred days, nearly a million people were slaughtered in a genocide in Rwanda.

An event about the Rwandan genocide will be held on Wednesday, September 13 at Mitchell Hamline School of Law, Room 325, 875 Summit Avenue, St. Paul, from 7:00-9:00 pm.

The documentary, Ghosts of Rwanda, will be shown that demonstrates the failure to prevent the Rwandan genocide. Dr. Ellen Kennedy, Executive Director, will discuss transitional justice after the genocide and tensions between justice and peace today.

The program is open to the public; no reservations are necessary. $10 general public, $5 students and seniors, and free to Mitchell Hamline students. $25 for two standard CLE credits for lawyers (pending) and 2 ‘clock hours’ for educators.
